OUR HIGH CALLING
As
Members of the Placerville Seventh-day Adventist Church
"We must love the Lord our God with all our hearts, all our
souls, and all our minds’ This is the first and greatest
commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as
yourself.’ The entire law and all the demands of the prophets are
based on these two commandments." Matthew 22:37-40
"Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing
them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Teach these new disciples to obey all of the commands I have given
you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of
the age." Matthew 28:19-20
Our Mission (Why We Exist and What We are Called to
Accomplish) As a Seventh-day Adventist Church, our mission is to
reach as many as possible of the 130,000 unchurched people in El
Dorado County with the grace-filled gospel of Jesus Christ and
connect with them in spiritual fellowship. We will use the method of
"Christ Reaching People Through People" to accomplish this
God-directed mission.
Our Vision (A Vivid Description of our Future) To
become more like Jesus in His loving passion for saving people for
the Kingdom of God. By focusing on God’s call we will to seek to
become a safe place where people can join us as we share the journey
of loving God and serving others in love. It is our goal to become
transformed Christians who go and make disciples for Christ. How we
do it will include caring for people’s immediate needs, moving them
closer to God through prayer, Bible study, small groups and
demonstrating in our own lives a committed personal relationship
with Jesus Christ.
Remember our core values of acceptance, inclusiveness,
caring relationships, creativity and freshness in worship, empowered
leadership, team spirit, continual improvement, life fulfilling
service and always sharing God’s blessings as we live and serve each
day for Christ.
Where We are Going in 2007 To fulfill God’s great commission
for our church we invite you the members to get passionately
involved in ministry and evangelism. Jesus said, "The harvest is
great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge
of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields." Are
you willing to be one of God’s workers? Respond to His call and join
us for God’s bountiful harvest.

Core Values
We believe
- that Jesus Christ is the Centerpiece of the
Bible! He is the Author and Finisher of our salvation and it is
through faith in Him that we receive eternal life and forgiveness
for our sins. (John 1:1-3; 3:16; 14:1-3
Acceptance and Inclusiveness
-
We believe that every person is valuable to God, to His church and
to His Kingdom.
Team Spirit - We believe that our church is a team and that
teamwork is God’s design for effective ministry.
Creativity, Freshness In Worship - We believe that a clear
presentation of the Gospel in worship, through creative expression,
while remaining true to Biblical principles, will impact and
transform lives.
Transformed Lives - Every Christian is called to continual
spiritual growth where the power of Christ changes and grows us.
Lifting each other up and encouraging each other through small
groups, accountability and honesty is critical to a connected
relationship with Christ.
Life Fulfilling Service - Every believer is created for
ministry, gifted for ministry, authorized for ministry, needed for
ministry and fulfilled in ministry.
Continual Improvement - We believe that God is worthy of our
very best. Therefore, we will engage each activity with a humble
spirit of excellence. We seek competence, not perfection! We will be
open to improve what we do for God so that we are doing our very
best.
Caring Relationships - We believe that genuine loving and
caring relationships are key to the life of every person. We aspire
to resolve our differences in a positive, constructive manner that
honors God and builds character. It is through the Body of Christ
where God works out healing and enrichment.
Sharing Our Fortune - We believe that evangelism happens when
people invite people to examine changed lives in Christ. Every
believer may develop relationships with friends, neighbors and
family. These relationships are the avenues for evangelism. In this
way, evangelism becomes a natural outflow of inviting and sharing
with others the Good News of Christ.
Effective Leadership - We believe that effective leadership
is crucial to the life of the church. We will train and support
emerging leaders of all ages who are able to reach their generation
with the Gospel.
